Life Long Mentors is a Not-For-Profit Organization founded in 2020 dedicated to shine the light on mental health recovery through the lens of a peer support guided model. We offer individualized peer support mentoring specialized for adolescents between the ages of 18-24 experiencing mental health challenges. Our goal is to encompass all elements of peer support including peer listening, education, and mentoring in your mental health recovery process.

Peer Support is a broad term that refers to a supportive social support established by a person with lived experience of mental health illnesses. Peer support encompasses peer listening, education, and peer mentorship. Peer support works by building social support over a common experience. In the eyes of Life Long Mentors, it is the true empathetic response. Peer supporters share knowledge and experience, something that a psychologist or medical professional who doesn’t share these experiences may not be able to do. Through Life Long Mentors, peer supporters are available to provide individualized support from the shared experience lens. By implementing the peer support model, Life Long Mentors creates hope and support to better support those facing a mental health challenges

TRAINED PEER SUPPORTERS
Our peer supporters are highly-trained individuals who are selectively chosen to carry our peer support program. Our Peer supporters have common lived experiences with mental health challenges, come from all walks of life, and represent diverse populations. Peer Supporters receive extensive training in mental health awareness, cultural awareness, empathy, mentorship building.
UTILIZATION OF THE PEER SUPPORT PHILOSOPHY
Through an emphasis on peer listening, peer education, and peer mentorship, we aim to practice a comprehensive peer support model in our work. Grounded by principles of empathy, active listening, and sensitivity to diverse needs, we aim to provide mentees the greatest benefit and support from our program.
COMMON LIVED EXPERIENCE
Common lived experience is important in our foundation for delivering the true empathetic response. By connecting adolescents with peer support mentors who have once been in your shoes, we aspire to deliver a service that fosters compassion and authenticity.
